Introduction

A

quick note before beginning. This FAQ reflects the many considerations that could be brought to it by the four principal authors (Michel, Fred, Dennis and Alex), as well as input from various sources (Marilyn - proofreading, Garrett - Summary of Darklands Hint Book). As much as possible, authorship of a particular section is indicated. Quotes are indented and, unless a different provenance is given, are to be understood as coming from Microprose literature on Darklands. The current v3.0 update was done by Myles Q. Martinez and submitted to the other authors for their approval.

In 1995, when we started this project and search engines were few and far between, there were two other instances of "darklands" on the search engines.

The first was an album/tour by a band called "The Jesus and Mary Chain". The second was a gothic recording label in Finland.

Nowadays, there are a few more sites devoted to the game Darklands, not the least of which is Matt Wirkkala's which we're pleased to link to here. Now that we've got these things out of the way, let's talk about the game Darklands from Microprose Labs.
